Watermark Hotel & Spa Appoints New General Manager

Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Mr Kym Carter as the hotel’s new General Manager.
Kym possesses a wealth of hotel industry experience, having worked for market leaders Hilton and Accor globally and, prior to moving to Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast, holding the coveted role of General Manager for Brisbane’s leading hotel, the Stamford Plaza Brisbane.
The Watermark Hotel Group have charged Kym with “repositioning the hotel and embarking on a major refurbishment in very challenging market conditions.”
Whilst it was a difficult decision to leave such an iconic hotel in Brisbane, Kym says “the Watermark provided an opportunity too good to miss.”
Kym has lived on the Gold Coast for the past eleven years and is no stranger to the destination, having previously run Mercure Resort Surfers Paradise (now Paradise Resort) and Grand Mercure Broadbeach (now Sofitel).
Kym believes “Watermark Hotel & Spa has great potential and is very excited about playing a major part in shaping a bright future for the hotel.”
